Vintage Frigidaire
Washer Inner Bellows Seal
- Nearly Impossible to Find These Days!
And I just sold my
last new one...
This
was OEM (GM) Frigidaire part #5433572 - the inner, or 'oil' bellows
seal that was used under the (up/down) agitator in the most
efficient top-load automatic washers ever invented. This one fit inside both the earlier
5433576 outer bellows and the later version 638860.
I
remember when this job was common - 'wish I had a dollar for every
set of these I've replaced over the years, and every nail I pulled
out of the originals! I think my left leg's longer than my right from
putting it into Frigidaire washer tubs to hold them while I wrestled the agitator nut
off to replace these!
This
particular 'inner' bellows was used under the agitators of all Frigidaire
washers, 1959 thru 1979 Models. Also in models WL-60,
WL-64, WO-65, WO-65-2, WV-65, WI-56, WDU-57, WI-57, WI-58, WCI-58,
WCIR-58, and I've probably missed a few. In other words, this was a
VERY popular bellows that's now 'no
longer available'!
Tip:
Before installing, slip the retainer snap ring up into the second fold,
hold the lower end of this part under a hot water faucet to warm
it, then stretch it out with your hands. Makes it a lot easier on
your thumbs when you install it!
Sorry
they're all gone. If I happen to find any more, I'll post them both here
and on Ebay ASAP.
Thank
you!
