Whirlpool & Kenmore 285805 Washer Fill
Valve Kit, New Style "One-Screw" Design

Here's another very common washer fill valve. This kit replaces nearly all the valves used in Whirlpool, Kenmore, Kitchenaid, Roper, and Estate washers made in the last 20 years.

Whirlpool 285805 washer fill valve

Includes a mounting plate to adapt to the earlier machines that used one, with screw holes aligned to also fit many other brand washers, and comes with new stainless steel inlet screens installed.

Designed to fit the Whirlpool and Kenmore 'one-screw' mount, with just two egg-shaped' holes in the washer back panel, like this:

With this mount, the valve is inserted through the holes and shifted to the narrow side of the holes, then the single screw holds it in place.

I was originally skeptical that this mount would be strong enough, but it's proven to be a pretty good design. And it's easier than earlier designs to turn fill hoses with a pliers when the valve spuds point straight out like this.

It's not a bad idea to keep a spare valve kit on hand, especially if your home's water is supplied by a well. The sediment present in well systems is really hard on washer fill valves.

Instructions are included, and if you should have any questions or problems, I'm always here to help! For tips on replacement, click [HERE]
