Washer Fill Valve
Installation Tips
Here are a couple of quick tips for replacing your washer's fill
valve. The valve shown is the older
WH13X81, but
this applies to most of them.
I always replace the fill hose washers whenever the washer
hoses are removed. It's cheap insurance against leaks.
Also, if your water supply carries much sediment, as well water
usually does, it's a good idea to add screens up at the faucet ends of the
hoses. Makes it much easier to clean them when they're up there within
reach, than if they're inside the valve on the back of the machine. The
cold screen will almost always be the one that clogs.
